Admission Policy
Joy Christian School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin with all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, athletic, and other school administered programs.
All incoming Kindergarten and 9th grade students are required to take an initial entrance test prior to acceptance. New students at other grade levels may also be required to take an initial entrance test prior to acceptance. Joy may not be equipped or staffed to meet the needs of all children, and we recognize that other schools may be better able to serve children with some special needs and challenges. A $40 fee will be charged for this testing.
New families to the school must meet with the Director of Admissions or Principal prior to enrollment. The minimum admissions procedure requires 72 hours of processing. The minimum procedures include submitting a copy of birth certificate, up-to- date immunization records and completed emergency card prior to officially attending class.

Parent drivers assisting with field trips must provide a valid insurance card and copy of their driver’s license to the school office prior to driving. Siblings may not attend field trips due to school liability policies. Additionally, we require a Volunteer Handbook Guide to be signed prior to volunteering in any capacity.
RenWeb Database/Communication
RenWeb is a database by which we track student profile information and communicate with our families. All students enrolled at Joy Christian School must have access to RenWeb for several purposes including but not limited to lunch ordering, grade reporting, progress reports, report cards, communication between families and school staff and billing. In the event a Joy Christian School family does not have access to a computer, please notify the school office.
Tuition Assistance/Tax Credit
Parents have the primary responsibility to provide for their child’s education. If assistance is needed we encourage parents to utilize ACSTO (Arizona Christian School Tuition Organization), a tax credit organization which allows donors to recommend your child for their tax credit donation. Details can be found at www.acsto.com. Families who believe they have the need for additional tuition assistance beyond this are encouraged to apply for a grant from the JCS Assistance Fund. A limited amount of funds are available for disbursement each year. Families are encouraged to apply early. An information packet, application form and information on additional sources are available from the school’s business office.
Withdrawal from Enrollment During School Year
One month’s notice is required for all withdrawals. Withdrawals require processing and therefore, a student withdrawing from school will be charged for the full month he/she is currently attending plus one additional full month. Records requests require 48 hours to be processed and will not be processed unless the financial status is in good standing.
